THE COCKATOO IS ALSO A VERY RARE BIRD.
COCKATOOS ARE USUALLY WHITE IN COLOR AND MAY HAVE A PINK OR BLACK TINT TO THEM. THEY ARE KNOWN FOR THE LARGE GROUP OF FEATHERS ON THEIR HEADS THAT ARE CALLED CRESTS.
ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE NOW GETTING COCKATOOS FOR PETS BECAUSE THEY CAN BE TRAINED TO TALK. THEY ALSO MAKE GOOD PETS BECAUSE THEY HAVE A LIFESPAN OF ABOUT50 YEARS
Cockatoos are found in the Australasian region from the Celebes in the west to the Solomon Islands in the east.
They live in a wooded terrain but are sometimes found in the open. At night the cockatoo retires in the woods or forests to roost at night;unlike other birds they do not leave it's roost until the sun is quite high.Cockatoos have crests which they can erect at any time.There are 16 different species of birds with an array of colors.Most cockatoos are known for being caged birds.
